Founder and designer
About the founder
Passionate about fashion since she was little, Brisa Quijano founded Karat Kantenah after a creative path in fashion and jewelry schools in New York, Miami and Mexico City.
Brisa found her true passion in jewelry. She has always considered that wearing jewelry is her way of expressing herself and showing the strength in the feminine essence.
For her, being in contact with crystals and precious stones has had a great impact on her life due to all the energy and benefits they have. Reason why the designer has decided to implement these crystals and stones in her collections to give another meaning to the pieces in addition to design.

Where is Karat Kantenah born?
Karat Kantenah was born from the perspective of its designer Brisa Quijano, who believes that jewelry represents much more than an accessory. For her it is an amulet to feel strong, sure of yourself and beautiful. For this reason, the designer implements semi-precious stones, as well as quartz in her collections, since she considers that it has a great energetic effect and, as she would call it, “magic”.
The jewelry is inspired by everything esoteric. A faithful brand believer in astrology, numerology, energies and everything magical that exists.
The name "Karat" known as "carat", in English which means carat and "Kantenah" honoring a bay considered magical of great personal significance for the designer located in the Riviera Maya.
Karat Kantenah Jewelry is totally different from others since apart from being an accessory we give it a spiritual, energetic meaning and we believe in the magic it brings you. We call this "magic" that way because we believe that wearing our designs becomes an amulet which makes you feel stronger, more confident and beautiful. We try to raise women's self-esteem and help them feel more empowered by using our pieces. We are a proudly Mexican jewelry, supporting the artisan since our pieces are made one by one with great delicacy and adjusting the stones one by one.
